Itchyworms is a Filipino rock band. Their new song "Love Team" is currently a hit among local radio stations, including NU107. Some of their other hits are "Akin ka na lang", "Beer", and also "Kabataang Pinoy", the theme song of Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Edition. They recently won in the "Best World/Alternative Music" category of the 19th Awit Awards for the song, Akin Ka Na Lang. They also won "Best Album of the Year" in the 2006 NU Rock Awards.

Formed in 1996, the band is composed of Ateneo College. Music is guitar-driven pop-rock, embellished with two- or three-part vocal harmony. Emerge in musical occasionally, they make no conscious effort to make songs sound certain ways. Jazz and/or Jugs write most of the songs they play, then they all arrange the song together and come up with insturmental and vocal parts of the group. Their prinicipa goal is songwriting and arranging is to achieve the utmost musical cohesion.

On the surface, the Itchyworms have always been a bunch of jovial and funny guys. Their distinct sense of humor is quite known, if not legendary among their friends and peers who have known them from their college days in the Ateneo.

But as musicians, the foursome are deadly serious. The band came out at a time when furious and tuneless rap-metal was on the verge of breaking into local rock radio. In the midst of all the cacophonous aggression, the Itchyworms wrote and performed catchy music with actual melodies. But these weren’t mere pop songs; the band’s arrangements displayed a certain depth and complexity that would make the most fickle musician take notice.
